Founded in 1922, UNC Press is the oldest university press in the South and one of the oldest in the United States. A Book Sprint is a collaborative process that captures the knowledge of a group of experts in a single book. In 3-5 days the Book Sprints professional team works with a chosen group of experts to create a high-quality publication ready for print and digital distribution. Since 2008, Book Sprints has facilitated the creation of over 130 books by publishers including O’Reilly, Cisco Systems and many others.

Longleaf Services was established by The University of North Carolina Press, and currently provides currently provide operational services, marketing support, and editorial, design, and production services to university presses for books and journals. Longleaf also offers complete fulfillment services including customer service, order processing with full electronic data interchange and advanced shipping notification capabilities, credit and collections, sales and inventory reporting, and warehousing and distribution for the following distinguished publishers.
